Early Years Foundation Stage
The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) includes our Pre-Nursery, Nursery and Reception classes. We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum which is the basis for all of our activities and learning. The EYFS guides the teaching and learning process and helps us to establish a positive and rich learning environment for our classes. Children develop a joyful appreciation for learning. With encouragement from their teachers, they develop independence, initiative and compassion for others.
We believe children need to feel safe, valued, included and engaged at school. Meeting these needs, through positive and nurturing relationships, fosters their intellectual, creative, physical, social and emotional development.
We deliver the EYFS curriculum through the
Curiosity Approach. As Early Years practitioners we have a passion for providing children with the best possible start in their learning journey. Through the Curiosity Approach, we strive to create an environment that promotes awe, wonder and curiosity through the use of authentic and natural resources. It is a wonderful mix of Reggio Emilia, Steiner, Montessori and Hygge methodology that will help promote and widen experiences for your child. At Phoenix, we believe every child is unique, is constantly learning, can be resilient, capable, confident and self-assured.
